How we check our used gear

Every item for sale goes through our in-house lab before it goes online and is covered by a 2-year warranty (12 months if you buy with a VAT number).
On camera bodies we check the sensor, body shell, electronics, plastics, rubber grips and display; on lenses the barrel, glass elements, aperture and autofocus.
Every listing shows the photos, the condition and the shutter count of that very unit: what you see is what you get.

Frequently asked questions about used Tamron lenses

Which cameras does a used Tamron lens fit?

Every Tamron is built for one specific mount, Canon EF, Nikon F, Sony E, Fujifilm X or Sony A, stated in the name and on the product page: it fits only bodies with that mount. Di II marks the design for APS-C, Di full frame, Di III the versions for mirrorless. With the original adapters, many DSLR Tamron lenses work on Canon and Nikon mirrorless cameras.

What do you check on a used Tamron lens?

Glass against the light for scratches, haze, dust and fungus; aperture, zoom and focus rings, USD or PZD autofocus motor and VC stabiliser tested on a body with the same mount; mount, contacts, barrel and zoom lock; final cleaning. That is at least 11 checks; the cosmetic grade on a five-level scale and the accessories included are written on the product page.

What do the letters on a used Tamron lens mean?

VC is the stabiliser, USD and PZD the ultrasonic autofocus motors, SP the upper series, Di full frame, Di II APS-C, Di III the design for mirrorless, G2 the second generation of a zoom, Macro a high reproduction ratio. The designations of each unit are given on its product page with the mount and the grade.

What warranty and shipping come with a used Tamron lens?

The ReflexMania warranty of 24 months from delivery, 12 months with a VAT number, free returns within 14 days with a full refund and free shipping within Italy from €49 with delivery in 1-3 working days; €15 to EU countries. If you have a Tamron to sell or trade in, the quote by email is free and you ship the lens to us with a tracked courier.
