Frequently asked questions about the used Canon 17-55mm f2.8 IS USM
What do you check on a used Canon 17-55mm f2.8 IS USM before selling it?
We inspect the glass against the light (scratches, haze, fungus, internal dust), the zoom ring and the focus ring, the aperture, the USM autofocus and the IS stabiliser by testing them on a Canon APS-C body, the 77 mm filter thread and the mount with its contacts. On each item's page you find the grade and the included accessories, with a 2-year warranty.
Which cameras does the Canon 17-55mm f2.8 IS USM fit?
It has the Canon EF-S mount: it fits Canon DSLRs with an APS-C sensor, such as the two-, three- and four-digit series, and EOS R mirrorless cameras with the EF-EOS R adapter. It does not fit full-frame DSLRs, which do not accept EF-S lenses. The 17-55mm zoom covers wide angle to portrait.
How much does a used Canon 17-55mm f2.8 IS USM cost from you?
Since 2024 we have sold five, between €370 and €400; the last one in May 2026 at €378, in Minimal Signs grade. On each item's page you find price, grade and included accessories, with a 2-year warranty and returns within 14 days. If you have one to sell or trade in, we value it within 24 hours. If you are looking for a lens within this budget, also have a look at our used lenses under €500.
Is the Canon 17-55mm f2.8 IS USM stabilised?
Yes, it has the IS stabiliser, which we test on every unit before sale, useful because Canon DSLR bodies have no in-body stabilisation. Minimum focus distance 0.35 m and magnification ratio 0.17x. The f2.8 aperture stays constant across the whole zoom range.
